im not saying that i could have folded if that were me but when Gus moved in on the river Daniel was really only beating a bluff- Gus isnt doing that with a straight or 3 of a kind and all the other full houses beat him

Dude, youre proving ...( 8 months ago by nobodymm)
Dude, youre proving my point. If DN had been showing strength then he is gonna call dont you think? He risks losing the extra bet dude, DN would never bet unless he was that strong....So the point is Gus gets the bet every time if he bets the river, but loses a chance at the extra bet sometimes if he checks. He misplayed but it worked out cause DN had a monster too. DN would prolly reraise Loose gus anyway so Gus gets all the chips.
Also, check raising ...( 8 months ago by nobodymm)
Also, check raising shows strength and DN might fold to the reraise with out such a good hand, so gus would lose out. Most people think you should bet your hands because sometimes trapping makes you lose the extra bet.

Ill explain again, If he knows DN has a monster he knows he'll get a call. The point is that by checking in some situations he loses an extra bet. Read my posts above. You say he knows DN has a hand, then bet for the call. Checking Quads is dumb even if Gus the Man does it. And Gus is the man. (So is DN really)

You obviously have ...( 8 months ago by ginganinja247)
You obviously have no idea about poker as Gus's check was used to make DN place the bet which he inevitably did. Thus meaning that Gus can re raise him and he already has A larger percentage of DN chips than he would of if he forced DN out of the pot. Also DN is the greatest ever card reader and would have definately known he was going to lose if gus raised. Also, Gus and DN are very good mates so they know eachothers plays like the back of their hands.
You are the one who ...( 8 months ago by nobodymm)
You are the one who is missing the point. We are talking about that play in the long run. Most times, your oppenent will not have such a strong hand and will not bet for you, therefore you lose the bet. I did not say push DN out, I said raise AT him, with his hand he likely reraising anywyas so Gus can all in anyways. Most times your holding quads your opponent doesnt have a boat therefore would likely check after you do, therefore you lose the river bet. Get a brain before you respond

Also Ginga, Gus is well known to be LOOSE and FAST when he plays. I agree DN may be the best reader on theplanet, but not even DN reads quads. By your argument, DN would fold to Gus's check raise (he did not though....) You make no sense. DN would not fold the boat if Gus opened a bet on the river, he would probably reraise. Ill explain AGAIN, Gus RISKS losing the bet if he does not make it himself in 9 out of 10 situations. Geez man.

Fair point, but as you can see DN did read the quads at the end where he assumed Gus had Pocket 5,s

You're right, he did throw out there at the end that he suspected 55 or 99. But he ended up calling. I think this specific hand, all the chips are going in no matter how the river bets go down. As DN says, that hand was a "Cooler" wowsers (and Ouch!)
